I think this last comment really captures the heart of the issue. Living in a consciousness of gratitude is one of the secrets of happiness. It reminds me of a quote from Plato to the effect that if you are not happy with what you have, you won’t be happy with what you WISH you had. An attitude of gratitude (as I’ve heard it referred to) offers happiness NOW, not just when our dreams come true! I liked the post, by the way.

I sometimes wonder if I’m living my “dream”. I must admit, I hate superficial, self-centred goals surrounding wealth, health and prosperity. What happened to sacrifice, and living for others rather than just ourselves? I find, the more one lives for themselves, and their own world, the more shallow their character is. Maybe that’s why much of society is falling apart?

My life is in a tailspin from a very recent turn of events that changed everything I know about life and living. I’m still scrambling to find a new plan and a new path. I have the physical things I want and need and now I just need to realign my happiness.

The law of attraction is as old as the hills. It’s been around forever. I am not sure if I beleive you can attract luck or success, but I do think we can THINK outselves sick or well. I think this “law” works on a physical level.

The more you study the Laws of Attraction, the more famous names seem to have quoted the theories. It seems that many very famous and successful people have been tuned into the notion that if you think it you can achieve it, and like attracts like. Jane Austen being just another very notable example of a woman who’s wisdom was far ahead of her time.

I’m curious to understand why The Secret is a scam? Personally it’s had a positive effect on my life and the movie was wonderfully uplifting to watch with it’s core message beautifully portrayed.

Law of Attraction does work, it’s ironic that if you believe it doesn’t then it will prove to you that it doesn’t. It acts very much like a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy in that respect.

Ultimately though, this is all about just being willing and accepting enough to jump in and give it a go. There’s no real downside and a unlimited upside, just don’t let fear hold you back.

Sorry, I hate to be cynical but is all this “Law of attraction” stuff for real? Funny, but I’d never heard of it until I joined MBL! Sure I know like attracts like, opposites attract, positive thinking equals positive results, and all that. Or is the law of attraction like the “web 2.0″ version of all of the latter?

I think it’s part of human nature to always strive for more. As long as you look at what you got and not at what you don’t, it’s pretty easy to be happy no matter where you are.

Interesting point of view! If you canÂ´t wait for your goal to happen in reality, I recommend Lucid Dreaming. It feels just like reality, but you have the possibility to do what ever you want. Become rich, drive fast cars, fly and do matrix moves. Well I am already doing this, so I guess I should start looking more into the law of attraction so I can reach my goals in reality too.
