One of the ideas I have seen before is “make your readers famous.” Mention their input when appropriate like: “xxxx brought it to my attention that…” or “xxxx asked my opinion on this…”

Giving readers personal attention makes it feel like they are noticed. And when their happy, they’ll stick around.
