8 Random Facts About Me

8 Random Facts About Me

I’ve tried to cut down on meming over the past few months because if I responded to every meme I got, I would be meming almost everyday. That being said, I still enjoy meming, and you know it’s time to respond to a meme when you get tagged by five different people. This is the meme for “8 Random Facts About Me.” This should be fun (and kind of weird)…

8 Random Facts About Me

  1. I am a huge animal lover and I have 2 cats who are the most friendly cats ever. Their names are Donkeluie and Nienkaylo. Yeah, I know, that sounds really weird. If you want to know the full story, e-mail me and I’ll tell you.
  2. I am a huge fan of hip hop and rap music. It’s really all I have listened to for the past 3-4 years. That doesn’t mean I like all the crap that is out now. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any real new talent in that genre for a LONG time, so most of the music I listen to is from the early-mid 90′s. That is when hip hop was at its peak.
  3. I prefer interacting with the general public on the Net rather than in real life. I used to work at the Apple Store and let me tell you – working in retail is stressful and annoying. When you encounter hundreds of people on a daily basis, the number of people who are rude and inconsiderate is quite significant. Interacting online doesn’t allow for those problems – you choose who you want to interact with on an exclusive basis. This equates to a much more relaxed work environment.
  4. I have lived in Wisconsin, Alaska, Washington state, and now, Arizona.
  5. I am a diehard race and performance car enthusiast. I have owned several Japanese performance automobiles including a Subaru WRX and 3rd generation Mazda RX-7 (with 500hp). I love racing and I have taken both of those cars to the race track. I plan to get back into racing here soon.
  6. I have been an Apple Mac user since age 7. I have probably owned a dozen or so Macs in the past 15 years. I have always admired Apple as a company and it used to be my dream to work for them. I finally got that chance earlier this year, and I quickly realized that I’d rather not work in the retail environment. That being said, I am sure Apple is a great company to work for at their corporate headquarters.
  7. I have met more cool people online in the past 3 months than I have in the previous 10 years.
  8. I used to have a fear of public speaking, but since I started blogging, I now want to do podcasting, video podcasting, and eventually, seminars.

Thanks for tagging me guys…

Here is who I am tagging…

Cool facts Nate. I also love animals and have a big baby of a cat. I’ll have to post some pics on my blog. :)

  2. betshopboy says:

Your cat’s names are real unique, I’m interested to hear the special story. Am I one of those cool people you’ve met online? LOL!

I’ve posted this “8 Random facts” meme too last week, check it out on my blog and know a little bit more COOL facts about me. hehe….

  3. Gary Lee says:

you worked at the apple store? no wonder you got that 30 in” Apple Display . . i’d work there for that too!

  4. Your cats are insane. Especially nienkaylo… he is a wild beast. I am still waiting for the next big thing in rap, too. I am listening to the same stuff that I have been listening to for years, and the awesome thing is that it never gets old. Thx 4 teh tag!

  5. You are becoming what you think about daily friend.
Hip hop has become too the same across the board. It will change soon.
I have to agree with you on the retail gig. Been there.

  6. Hey Nate,
I also love dogs! Hip hop has definitely been going downhill. And, retail sucks.

  7. Florchakh says:

“I have met more cool people online in the past 3 months than I have in the previous 10 years”

Nat I thnk you have to get out more :)

    Not really

  10. Hey Nate,

How did you do your background for this blog? Fading colors keeps eluding me.

  11. Noah says:

I must disagree with the current Rap Hip-Hop statement. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Cronic 1, and the old stuff too. Its Classic. But the current stuff is off the chain! Or should i say its “Krispy”

  12. Dennis says:

Where did you live in Wisconsin?

    • I was born in Madison where I lived for two years before we packed up and moved to Juneau, Alaska. Another two years and then we headed down south to a small town outside of Seattle known as Gig Harbor.

  13. Mac is somewhat overrated IMO. Albeit, you (Nate) are not one of those who buy a mac just to fit in with all the other geeks on the net, I respect that.

  14. ejoe says:

Hey nate, i JUST started a blog myself and i’m in the process of absorbing a ton of information. Your blog rocks. I’ve been a PC user and windows developer for a while but just recently decided to get a Mac book:

    http://www.entrepreneurjoe.com/2007/08/03/i-got-to-get-myself-a-macbook/

I think they slick and more reliable than PCs in general and you cant beat the “cool factor”

I still have a fear of public speaking and am working on it, hopefully this blogging thing will be a positive experience.

    good luck with your businesses.
