My Blogging Objective: My plan with this blog is to detail my online and offline business development, including tips on business, blog and web development.

My Business Experience

My business partners, Josh Mullineaux and Matt Blancarte and I are actively developing several businesses. Our main business is infinFX, a web development company located here in Scottsdale, Arizona. We are also developing the business plan for a new web site aimed at helping bloggers succeed.

One aspect that we have been considering when developing these businesses is how they will network together. In other words, how they can assist each other. If businesses network together, we can potentially greatly reduce the development and operating cost of each.

Future Business Plans & Goals

Our goal, by the end of 2007, is to have 2-3 people employed part-time for each business. In 2008, we plan to buy office space in the Scottsdale area and hire managers and full-time employees.

Some people have wondered if we plan to seek outside funding, such as VC or angel funding. We would prefer to fund all of our businesses by ourselves. However, at some point, all businesses could use a little boost in available capital.

It seems like nowadays people think that VC funding is the magical answer to developing a successful startup. However, one needs to remember the signifcant cost and risk you assume when handing over a large percentage of ownership to a party who is not involved in the day-to-day operations. Additionally, all new successful businesses require profitability from the start. Preferably, private funding is the way to go.

Main Businesses

infinFX media. Established: April 2003.

We create marketing solutions for businesses looking to stand out amongst their competition. We are located in Scottsdale, Arizona; however, we have completed work for clients all over the continental U.S. Our marketing solutions range from simple, content-based HTML web sites to full e-commerce solutions for online retail stores.

The Scottsdale Review. Established: Still in development, launch planned for the first half of 2007.

The Scottsdale Review is still under development, but will be publication featuring reviews of Scottsdale shopping, dining, events, and entertainment. The Scottsdale Review will also feature information on local businesses and act as a portal to the best of Scottsdale. We developed this site to give back to the community and eventually hope to develop a print publication as well. We plan to launch this site sometime in the second half of 2007. We are currently looking for local writers, please contact me if you are interested.

On another note, my business partners and I would someday also like to own a high performance automobile tuning shop for exotic supercars, such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, etc. We plan to begin this project in the next five years.

It is difficult juggling several different businesses and trying to make them successful. Everyday I learn new aspects about business and I discover even more new things I want to learn about. Time management is very important.
