New Blog Theme for My Business Partner, Josh

New Blog Theme for My Business Partner, Josh

I wanted to take a quick moment to mention that I recently designed a new blog theme for my business partner, Josh. This was probably the longest I spent customizing a blog theme which was around 8 hours of total development time.

For those you have not checked out Josh’s blog, you definitely should. Josh covers some interesting topics such as personal finance, business, and personal development. Josh is also is about to leave his full time position as a personal banker at Chase, in order to work full-time for our web design business, infinFX, as well as a new business we are developing that will be targeted towards bloggers.

Let me know what you think of the theme. I integrated a lot of the same elements from my blog that have proven to be successful for me.

If anyone is interested in purchasing a copy of Josh’s theme or a similar looking theme, we are releasing only 5 individuals copies of Josh’s theme. E-mail me for more information.

Check out Josh’s new blog theme here.

It’s a little similar to this theme (no bad thing). The amount of space in the main content area is just right and its easy to read. Good work :)

  2. haha good design, let me know what you could offer me and my blog, i would like something similar but very distinct!

  3. Nomar says:

Very nice design ! I really love it

  4. Checkout the right hand side in firefox, the subscribe area is a little screwed up

  5. Deron says:

    Looks great Nate!

  6. Gerad says:

Great work Nate. But as a previous commentor stated, it doesn’t look good in firefox. There are some definite issues there. Actually, now that I look around, there are some issues in firefox with your theme as well.

  7. It definitely has a familiar feel, but I like it. Nice work.

  8. Hi Nate,

The formatting of Josh’s top three nav sections are out in IE7. There’s some overlapping of text and padding issues.

Also, your own recent articles top section above goes outwith its confines in IE7 (the text cuts off behind the bottom margin).

    • Hey David, thanks for the heads up. I need to get a copy of Parallels so I can test on IE 6 and 7. I have Mac so I sometimes do not get the chance to test in IE 6 and 7.

Hi Nate, so I took another look at both sites on my other computer and figured out that the theme actually does look OK in firefox as long as the screen resolution is not 800×600. Just thought I would clarify. Hope that was helpful.

    Look okay for me.

  12. Armen says:

Nice work Nate! I would prefer, as with your own blog, that the font size was a little larger. However, it seems that the size you use is ‘acceptable’. It’s just my preference.

  13. MDB says:

Nice looking work. Wish I could knock up something like that in 8 hours. Maybe when I have the $$ I can get me one of those :D
